Learners can park free in designated areas on a first-come, first-served basis. Nelson Campus learners must register their vehicles; see more details below. Bike racks are available across campus.
The location of the on-site car parks is shown on the campus maps. Please avoid parking in signposted staff zones or restricted areas.
There are accessible car parks across all campuses. These are for Mobility Card holders only. Please display your card on your dashboard while parked.
We can arrange a temporary accessible parking permit for you. You’ll need a doctor’s certificate. Contact us at learnersuccess@nmit.ac.nz.
Overnight stays or camping in vehicles (self-contained or non-self-contained) are not permitted in NMIT car parks. Please check local council websites for approved freedom camping and accommodation options. If you need assistance, contact SANITI(external link) for support.
If you're studying at our Nelson Campus, you must register your licence plate to park onsite from 8 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday - one vehicle per learner only. Simply complete the online form after enrolling using the button below. Your details will be sent directly to Parking Enforcement Services(external link).
