A wide range of events were offered to top up our learners' mental health using the Five Ways to Wellbeing: connect, be active, take notice, keep learning, and give.
In Nelson, we also marked the week with something special. We officially opened our new Learner Lounge in the Library, gifted the name Nofo’anga, meaning “home away from home”.
This new dedicated learner space gives our learners a home on campus to rest, connect, recharge, and enjoy events explicitly designed for them. To kick start this new exciting event space for learners, we held an opening ceremony, an all-day breakfast, early morning yoga, and a paint & kai event.

Richmond turned up the fun with a fantastic day of volleyball, painting, and games. These events brought the whole campus together with something for everyone.
Marlborough focused on sharing kindness, with positive messages written in chalk throughout the week, a compliment station where you could leave compliments for your fellow classmates, and a range of fun activities and shared kai.

We were excited to give away several prizes, including a Summer Start-Up Kit, to get our learners sorted for summer. Congratulations to Olivia for winning this amazing prize. A countdown shout-out to Ben and Kharissa and spot prizes in Marlborough and Richmond.
Across all campuses, it was clear: when we take time to connect, move, and create, it has a significant impact on our mental health.
Ngā mihi nui to everyone who topped up together, shared a laugh, enjoyed some kai, got moving and helped make this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week.
