Nelson | morning or afternoon ceremony?

There are two graduation ceremonies in Nelson (am and pm).

Your ceremony time will depend on your study area. Find your qualification below to discover which graduation you can attend. All qualifications are listed by study area.

Parking at the venue is limited, so parking at the NMIT Nelson campus and joining us for the parade, or using one of the parking options available around Nelson City, [PDF 65 KB] is encouraged.

Shuttle bus: There will be a shuttle bus between NMIT Nelson campus and the Trafalgar Centre venue before each ceremony. Seats are limited, so priority will be given to graduates and guests with accessibility needs.

Questions, help or support: Please contact learnersuccess@nmit.ac.nz if you would like advice on parking or to request shuttle bus or other accessibility arrangements to support you and your guests to make the most of your day.

Graduation is a big moment, but we know that crowds, noise, bright lights and busy spaces can be overwhelming.

If you experience sensory sensitivity or anxiety, you can choose to take part in our Low Sensory Graduation, designed to help you celebrate in a quieter, more relaxed environment.

• A calm, low-stimulation space
• The opportunity to receive your award in a quieter setting
• Support from a Learner Success team member to help ensure your graduation day experience works for you

When you complete the ‘Tell us your graduation plans’ form, select the Low Sensory Graduation option. A team member will then contact you to discuss what would make graduation feel right for you.

You can also email learnersuccess@nmit.ac.nz at any time.

Celebrate your success, your way.
